Iowa wrestling 's Dean Peterson couldn't have picked a more polar-opposite part of the country to wrap up his college career.
A New Jersey native and four-year wrestler for Rutgers, Peterson made his way to Iowa City this offseason from the hustle and bustle of New Jersey. He says he likes the slowed-down nature of the Midwest so far, with the exception of trying to find a good slice of pizza.
"There's not a good pizza joint like there is on the East Coast, which kind of sucks," Peterson said with a smile.
For as much as the culture shock has thrown Peterson for a loop, there's an obvious fit between Peterson and the Hawkeye program. Not only does he bring "intrigue" as head coach Tom Brands says, but also an attitude and moxie Iowa fans should connect with.
