IOWA CITY — Opening night of the Ben McCollum era was a resounding success for the Iowa basketball team. The Hawkeyes reached the triple-digit mark, beating Robert Morris by a decisive score of 101-69 on Nov. 4.
Because the program underwent so many changes since the end of last season, and the fact that Iowa’s exhibitions were not open to the general public, we knew almost nothing about this team as a collective group.
But now having seen the Hawkeyes for one game, there’s plenty to dissect.
