Indian-origin Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City, marking a historic rise for the 34-year-old state lawmaker, who is set to become the city's first Muslim and youngest mayor. As he concluded his victory speech surrounded by family, the celebrations took a Bollywood turn with the 'Dhoom Machale' track playing in the background.

India Today now spoke to the creator of the popular Bollywood song, Pritam Chakraborty, about the joyous incident. Completely surprised by the fun twist to Mamdani's celebrations, the music composer said, "Never expected it but 'Dhoom Machale' playing on stage to celebrate the win by Zohran Mamdani is a big high for our soft power as a country and is deeply satisfying for me personally."
