CHICAGO — A suburban man accused of shooting and injuring a woman during an argument near a CTA Red Line stop on the city's North Side on Monday is now facing a felony charge.
According to Chicago police, 28-year-old Justin Abbott, a Skokie resident, has been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm.
Authorities say the charge stems from an incident that unfolded just minutes before Abbott's arrest Monday morning.
Police said the incident allegedly unfolded around 9 a.m. in the 5700 block of North Broadway, in Edgewater, near the Bryn Mawr Red Line stop.
Officers said the victim, a 23-year-old woman, got into an argument with Abbott, and amid the altercation, he allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire in the woman's direction.
