Aditya Birla Group flagship Grasim Industries Ltd reported a standalone profit of Rs 805 crore for the July-September quarter, an increase of 12 percent year-on-year. This also represents a return to profitability for the firm, which reported a loss of Rs 721 crore for the April-June quarter, as it built up its capital expenditure-intensive paints business.

Standalone earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter increased slightly year-on-year to Rs 1,786 crore, due to a large dividend income component.
