LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - At least seven people were killed in a plane crash at a Louisville, Kentucky, airport on Tuesday.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear confirmed at least seven deaths as a result of the crash and “catastrophic” fire, but he said he expected the number of fatalities and injuries to increase as the investigation unfolds.

“Please pray for the pilots, crew and everyone affected,” Beshear added.

Emergency crews responded to the plane crash at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport shortly after 5 p.m.

According to the FAA, the UPS aircraft crashed shortly after taking off while en route to Hawaii.
