Visitors gathered on Tuesday (November 4) around the golden mask of King Tutankhamun at Egypt’s Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), as the long-awaited Tutankhamun Gallery opens to the public for the first time. While parts of the museum had been accessible earlier, this marks the first time visitors have been able to enter the boy king’s chamber, the centerpiece of the museum located near the Giza pyramids.
