The New York Jets won the NFL trade deadline.

At 1-7, the Jets realized that defense no longer wins championships in the NFL – especially if you don’t have a franchise quarterback. While Woody Johnson is lambasting the play of quarterback Justin Fields , general manager Darren Mougey is doing the responsible thing.

The Jets have too much talent on their roster to be 1-7. They traded away one of the best cornerbacks in the league, Sauce Gardner, for two first-round picks. Then, they flipped longtime franchise cornerstone Quinnen Williams for an extra first-rounder plus more.
