COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - A Texas A&M University student received national recognition for his extensive community service. It stemmed from a nonprofit he founded over a decade ago to provide warmth to families during the winter months.

Charlie Pitner, a sophomore at Texas A&M, was recently named one of three nationwide recipients of “The Storage Center’s 2025 Space to Succeed Scholarship.” It awards $5,000 to students making a significant impact in their community.

Texas A&M sophomore Charlie Pitner, who founded "Charlie's Kids-4-Kids Coat Drive" at age six, has been nationally recognized with a $5,000 scholarship for his efforts, which have provided over 9,000 coats to families in need. (kbtx)
