MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Ballot questions in several New Hampshire cities on Tuesday included the future of social districts.
Social districts are special, designated areas where public drinking is allowed by a community. A new state law allowing social districts in cities that approve them took effect this fall.

Concord and Laconia voted in favor of allowing social districts, while Keene, Nashua and Portsmouth voted against them.

Meanwhile, whether to allow the Keno game was on the ballot in Concord, Keene and Portsmouth. All three cities voted not to allow it.
Portsmouth residents also voted to prohibit operating games of chance within the city.
