The country’s largest supermarket operator is placing a few of its stores on the chopping block.
Kroger is shuttering 60 grocery stores that span across 16 states over the next 18 months after a sales decline.
The supermarket chain promises to relocate affected employees while reinvesting its savings into customer experience improvements.
The closures represent roughly 5% of the 1,239 Kroger-branded stores across several states.
Right now, the company hasn’t announced which neighborhoods will be affected, as Kroger confirmed it doesn’t plan to release a list of the impacted locations.
