BEREA, Ohio - Berea City School District is making sure no student goes hungry as families brace for possible delays in SNAP benefits.

Along with serving free breakfast and lunch to every student, the district is organizing a communitywide food and hygiene drive to ensure families have what they need at home.

Cuyahoga County has yet to receive details on when SNAP benefits will resume or how much funding residents will get after the White House approved only partial payments this month using $4.5 billion in contingency funds, leaving about 190,000 residents without aid as local agencies work to fill the gap.

BCSD Superintendent Tracy Wheeler said the district acted quickly to reach out to families and remind them that help is available.
