The Yankees are bringing a member of their 2025 bullpen back, as the team exercised Tim Hill’s club option on Wednesday, a confirmed to the Daily News.
The expected decision, first reported by ESPN’s Jorge Castillo, will pay Hill $3 million in 2026, a $500,000 raise from the side-arming lefty’s salary this past season. Retaining the 35-year-old was an easy call for the Yankees, as Hill recorded a 3.09 ERA over 67 innings and a team-high 70 games while other relievers struggled with injuries and inconsistency.
Hill’s 64.8% groundball ratio also ranked third among all pitchers with at least 60 innings pitched.
Originally signed by the Yankees midway through the 2024 season after he was released by the White Sox, Hill has a 2.68 ERA over 105 games since putting on the pinstripes. No pi
