The key to Bill and Steve is that Bill is a Bill and Steve is a Steve.
You may know them by their more formal names: William Broyles, the founding editor of Texas Monthly and screenwriter on Apollo 13 and Cast Away , and Stephen Harrigan, among the magazine’s first senior editors and the author of the best-selling novel The Gates of the Alamo and countless brilliant articles .
But when you spend time with them, you see that, thank the good Lord, Bill is a Bill and Steve is a Steve. There’s ego in each of them somewhere, I’m sure. But I haven’t seen evidence of it. Especially not when they’re together.
