BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Erie County Democratic Committee Chair Jeremy Zellner says he will be stepping down in January for a run in the state senate.
Zellner hopes to secure the democratic nomination for New York State Senate for the 61st District, which is the district newly elected Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan previously represented.
"I've been talking to hundreds of voters over the last couple of months," Zellner said during a press conference Wednesday. "Their concerns are that their costs are rising for health insurance, their costs are rising for car insurance, their costs are rising for utilities, and sometimes they don't feel like they have a voice and I wanna be that voice."
The 61st District includes North Buffalo, Tonawanda, Amherst, and Grand Island.
