We’ve all read the stories and seen the horrific photos of how Hollywood actor and part-time Mt. Rose resident Jeremy Renner was run over by his snowcat on New Year’s Day 2023.
You’ve also seen numerous Reno Gazette Journal articles about how the 54-year-old film star, who narrowly survived a bone-crushing, near-death experience, is giving back through charitable efforts to the Northern Nevada community he says literally saved his life.
In his memoir, “My Next Breath,” Renner reflects on what life now means, having nearly — if not actually — died that New Year’s morning when his 14,000-pound snowplow pinned him beneath its churning tracks as he tried to save his younger nephew. As Renner writes in the closing sentence of his book: “To learn all that, all I had to do was die.”
