Low voter turnout determined who will represent Gastonia residents for the next four years.

According to the Gaston County Board of Elections, just over 17,000 ballots were cast out of 106,375 registered voters for the Nov. 4, 2025, election.

One seat was available for each position on Gastonia City Council.

Demetrios Koutsoupias, 64.62%

Adam Olivieri, 18.11%

Walter James Hart Jr., 17.05%

Write-In, 0.23%

Ward 2

Glenn Silverman, 45.72%

Kathy Boswell, 41.53%

Teresa Connor, 12.20%

Write-In, 0.56%

Ward 4

Angela Dreher, 54.63%

Cheryl Littlejohn, 44.97%

Write-In, 0.41%

Ward 5

Jennifer Stepp, 58.20%

Clark Simon, 41.52%
