OAKLAND — A 27-year-old man who told police he was shot during a robbery Tuesday night in East Oakland was in stable condition Wednesday, authorities said.
The man was being treated at a hospital for a face wound, authorities said.

The man told police he was walking near his home in the 2100 block of East 19th Street about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday when he was confronted by two men, one armed with a pistol, who demanded his valuables.
The man said one of the men grabbed a satchel from him containing his cell phone and cash.
He said he was shot when he started yelling and running away, authorities said.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not released.
