FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Johnsonville High School teacher turned himself in on an assault charge after allegedly snatching a student's wrist and bending their fingers back trying to remove a cellphone from their hand, the Florence County Sheriff's Office said.
Raymond Haselden, 62, of Johnsonville, turned himself in on Wednesday and was charged with third-degree assault and battery. He was released from the Florence County Detention Center on a $1,090.50 personal recognizance bond.
On Halloween, Haselden is accused of snatching a student's wrist, grabbing their fingers and bending the student's right ring finger backwards while trying to take their cellphone, the sheriff's office said. The student was treated at the high school.
