More than 700,000 Tennesseans who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are expected to see reduced benefits this month amid a continuing U.S. government shutdown.
Federal employees have also worked more than two paycheck periods without receiving pay.
To ensure members of the community don’t go hungry during the upcoming holiday season, several churches, food banks and locally-run organizations in Williamson County have announced weekly food drives.
