The clock is ticking on a court-ordered noon deadline for the Trump administration to reinstate at least partial SNAP food aid benefits to low-income families, including over 140,000 recipients in Rhode Island.

Two judges have now issued rulings requiring the government to keep the nation’s largest food aid program running, including U.S. District Court Judge John J. McConnell of Rhode Island who, on Oct. 31, gave the Trump administration until noon Wednesday, Nov. 5, to resume payments.
