AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - U.S. Marshals arrested a 37-year-old man wanted by the Akron Police Department for murder on Tuesday.

According to a release, Travonte D. Griffin, 37, was recently identified as the suspect in the Oct. 15 murder of Damere T. Boddie, 31.

Police said officers responded to the 500 block of Mohawk Avenue and found Boddie with at least one gunshot wound. Boddie was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Warrants, including one from the federal court in the Northern District of Ohio, were issued for Griffin’s arrest.

Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) began searching for Griffin and learned that he had fled the Akron area and was possibly hiding out in Atlanta, the
