JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. (WWTI) - Voters across Northern New York went to the polls on Tuesday in a plethora of races.
Gizelle Meeks was re-elected as Jefferson County Clerk with 9,153 votes as of 11 p.m. Tuesday. Meeks, who has been clerk for the last 12 years, beat back the challenge of Sandra Umstead, who got 2,916 votes.
All 15 members of the Jefferson County Board of Legislators were re-elected on Tuesday.
In St. Lawrence County, the town of Massena will have a new Town Supervisor and one new council member if unofficial results hold.
Democratic Councilor Ray Lancto leads incumbent Republican Supervisor Susan Bellor by a margin of 697 to 652.
Jared Hollander got the most votes for the two council seats up for grabs on Tuesday. Hollander has 697 votes, while incumbent Adrian Taraska
