GORDON, Ga. — Gordon Mayor Aprill Adside-Smith secured re-election Tuesday, according to the Wilkinson County Board of Election confirmed.

Unlike most areas of Georgia, Gordon does not do run-off elections should candidates fail to pass over the 50% vote threshold.

Because of that, Adside-Smith won re-election with 44.49% of the vote compared to challenger Terry Eady with 40.33% of the vote. She also beat two other challengers.

This means Adside-Smith will continue as mayor of the Wilkinson County city.
