KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man has been charged in connection with a deadly crash in Overland Park last week.

Brigham Morgan has been charged in Johnson County District Court with one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.

According to court documents, Janet Dam was hit and died from her injuries on Oct. 28. The crash happened while Dam was walking along Goddard Street near Switzer Road around 3:30 a.m.

Police said Dam was known to walk daily in the area around 4:00 a.m.

The crash happened when Morgan crashed into a parked car, then struck Dam before coming to rest after hitting a tree, according to OPPD.

Dam was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morgan is being held on a $25,000 bond, and his first appearance is set for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
