Two more fires have been added to a list of suspicious fires that took place at infill developments that were under construction.
Both of the new fires took place on November 2, with one at 132 Street and 102 Avenue and the second at 72 Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive.
There were four other fires that took place between October 18 and October 29 at various locations around Edmonton.
“These fires are senseless and dangerous, posing an unacceptable risk not only to the structures they consume but, critically, to the safety of nearby residents and the lives of our responding firefighters,” said Fire Chief David Lazenby. “I know these incidents have shaken our communities. I want to assure every Edmontonian that your concerns have been heard, and we are treating this with the utmost gravity.”
