PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Washington man pleaded guilty Tuesday to damaging an Oregon energy facility in 2022.
Nathaniel Cheney, 31, of Centralia, Wash., and others caused $26,000 worth of damage to the Sunnyside substation in Clackamas, Ore. on Nov. 28, 2022, according to court documents.

Officials said the group damaged the control equipment that is necessary to operate the station.
On Tuesday, Cheney pleaded guilty to one count of damaging an energy facility and agreed to pay restitution for the damage.
Cheney faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 18, 2026.
