COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina State Guard began distributing food at Harvest Hope Food Bank on Wednesday as questions continue regarding SNAP benefits during the ongoing government shutdown.

Hundreds of people showed up throughout the morning to pick up food at the distribution effort to assist impacted families.
Cars lined up all the way down Shop Road from Harvest Hope to the Interstate 77 exit, waiting to get their next meal. After pulling in, the State Guard loads a shopping cart of groceries into cars before filling up another, in what became a nonstop process.
