CLEVELAND, Ohio — The OHSAA’s new playoff format has given Perry plenty of time to rest for its Division IV postseason opener Friday against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.

The Pirates (8-2) have cruised through the second half of the season, winning six straight games, including five consecutive blowouts, on their way to a Chagrin Valley Conference title and the No. 1 seed in Region 13. Perry seeks a fourth straight trip to the regional finals, potentially facing Glenville again in a few weeks, but it first must contend with the Lions (8-3) at Alumni Stadium in Perry.
