Former Atlanta Hawks executive Lester Jones Jr. might be in some serious trouble over recent allegations.
He was arrested and charged with fraud and embezzling $3.8 million from the franchise earlier this month, according to The Athletic.
The former senior finance executive for the NBA team is accused of embezzling more than $3.8 million from the team over several years, reportedly using company credit cards and falsifying invoices to fund luxury travel, designer purchases, and personal expenses.
In the filing, prosecutors charged Lester T. Jones Jr. with a single count of wire fraud, saying he arranged for the Hawks to pay American Express nearly $230,000 for “fraudulently incurred personal expenses.”
