GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — With the uncertain state of politics, volatile stock market and massive layoffs, it's more important than ever to be wise with your money and not overspend with your credit card.

A new study has found that Minnesotans currently lead the nation in increasing credit card debt.

The personal finance website WalletHub has placed Minnesota in the number spot on a survey list titled: States Where Credit Card Delinquency Is Increasing the Most .

The study shows the rate of credit card delinquency increasing in all 50 states over the first two quarters of 2025. The research is based on WalletHub's proprietary user data on delinquency rates between Q1 2025 and Q2 2025.
