SEATTLE — A family's decades-long wait for justice may be over after a suspect was arrested in the 1994 homicide of a Seattle middle school student, Tanya Frazier.

Tanya was just 14 when her body was found on East Highland Drive on July 23, 1994, only blocks away from where she was last seen after leaving summer school classes at Meany Middle School.

Seattle police announced Wednesday they were able to match DNA collected in the case to 57-year-old Mark Anthony Russ, who was recently released from prison on other charges. He is now in King County Jail on investigation for homicide.

Russ waived his right to appear at a Wednesday court hearing. Prosecutors argued there was probable cause for his arrest on investigation of first-degree murder and asked he be held without bail.
