Verizon's online outage tracker is reporting multiple service outages across downtown and Mid City Baton Rouge since around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Ashley Rea, a Verizon spokesperson, said Wednesday that a fiber cut caused by a third party was interrupting service, and that crews are currently working to resolve the issue.

Internet data, voice, text and wireless home internet have been reported as out around downtown and Mid City, and as far east as Airline Highway.

While projections on the online tracker originally said the outages would be over by 11 a.m. Wednesday, the spokesperson said repairs are meant to be completed by 11 p.m. Wednesday.
