With a chance of snow and freezing temperatures in the forecast, winter weather is already on its way to North Dakota.

A cold front moving across the state late Nov. 7 and early Nov. 8 is expected to bring "cooler, wetter, and windy conditions," according to the National Weather Service in Bismarck. A mix of rain and snow is expected to transition to snow later in the day Nov. 8, with light accumulation possible in north central North Dakota.

At the same time, temperatures are expected to get chilly , with highs in the 20s and 30s and lows that could reach single digits in some places Nov. 7 and 8, the weather service said.
