SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The annual Tamale Fest will soon return to San Angelo for its fourth year, bringing another day of festivities celebrating the town's cultural heritage with the titular dish. From tamale vendors and contests to live music and more, here's what's happening at this year's event.
Luis Urteaga, the event's coordinator and sole entrepreneur of UP Positive Promotions, stated that Tamale Fest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Pop Art Museum, located at 125 W. Twohig Ave. There, attendees can purchase and eat tamales from five tamale vendors, compete in a tamale-eating contest, watch a tamale cook-off and more.
