SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport Police Department is investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old died from a gunshot wound late Tuesday night.

Police and Shreveport Fire Department medics responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of West 73rd Street at approximately 10:20 p.m.

They found a young man on a front porch suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health where he died. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Detectives say multiple people were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
