A Florida woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the deaths of two dogs that were reportedly abandoned in crates in her backyard.

The arrest follows a months-long investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

In March 2025, deputies responded to a home on Ninth Ave in Pine Manor, in Fort Myers, where they discovered two deceased and decaying dogs, Meme, a 1-year-old French Bulldog, and Bubbles, a 6-year-old Pit Bull mix, inside separate crates.

Detectives found the crates contained empty food and water bowls. A necropsy determined that both animals died from heat stress.

The owner, Jamesha Rollins, had allegedly left the animals behind while traveling to Miami without ‘arranging for their care or welfare.’
