San Francisco has good reasons to be cheerful ahead of this holiday season.
Macy’s announced that its Union Square flagship store is staying put for now as the city begins to welcome the earliest of holiday shoppers.
Also, on Wednesday morning, a 60-foot white fir Christmas tree rolled into Pier 39 arriving from the slopes of Burney Mountain in Shasta County. Decorating is scheduled to begin Thursday, and lighting happens Dec. 5.
