DULUTH, Minn. — The Lake Superior Zoo welcomed a baby cotton-top tamarin in Duluth, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The breed is critically endangered and fewer than 2,000 adults remain in the wild, according to the Lake Superior Zoo. Two baby tamarins were born at the zoo, but only one survived.

The baby joins a tamarin family in Duluth - parents Mira and Dino, and siblings Echo, Tango and Foxtrot.

The zoo stated that cotton-top tamarins have a high infant mortality rate of about 53%.

If you want to see the family of tamarins, they will be in the Primate Conservation Center from noon to 2 p.m. every day.
