RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — While games like Monopoly or Scrabble are games of strategy, making a left turn at a Raleigh intersection is, too.

A CBS 17 viewer reached out to us, saying turn signals on Edwards Mill Road at John Humphries Wynd and Ed Drive are driving her crazy because they only flash yellow and turn red. They never turn green.

"You always feel like, 'Oh, should I go? Should I not go? Is the guy in back of me going to be mad?'" Marian Foran said.

She passes through the intersection often, and says turning is always a guessing game.

City of Raleigh staff tells CBS 17 the signals were engineered to work this way. In a response regarding the signal, they said, "The left-turn movements from John Humphries onto Edwards and from Ed Drive onto Edwards Mill is designed to flash yello
