CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia has submitted its application for the Rural Health Transformation Program, Gov. Patrick Morrisey said on Wednesday.

The RHTP, a federal program created by the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” could bring as much as $500 million to West Virginia to help improve health care and health care outcomes.

"This is a change to truly be transformative," Morrisey said. "I believe West Virginia is going to be the model for the country in terms of how we're doing it — we handled this process right. If ever there is a state that will benefit from the Rural Transformation fund, it's West Virginia."
