HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A major lane switch that was initially scheduled for Nov. 7 to reduce I-10 to two lanes of traffic has been postponed for the second time, TxDOT announced Wednesday.
According to TxDOT, a stretch of I-10 westbound, from the I-45 North Freeway to Houston Avenue, will be reduced to two lanes to facilitate the completion of the multi-million-dollar White Oak Bayou Elevation Project.
TxDOT originally announced the partial closure would begin on Oct. 24, but later delayed the project to Nov. 7.
In a statement to ABC13, TxDOT said that the major traffic switch would not happen on Friday. They did not provide a new date for the project.
