Netflix has approached SiriusXM to license its video podcasts as part of its major push into the space, an insider tells The Hollywood Reporter .
The deal would likely involve exclusivity of the video podcasts on the platform, meaning they would not appear on Netflix’s main rival, YouTube, the source says. No deal has yet been reached.
This follows reports of Netflix approaching iHeartMedia with a similar deal and a THR report of the streamer sending dozens of requests to agents at WME, UTA and CAA in an attempt to sign on more video podcasters.
