PACKWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) - A man from Marquette County was arrested months after a deadly hit-and-run involving a pedestrian whom he reportedly believed at the time was a 'critter.'
Deputies with the Marquette County Sheriff's Office stated on Wednesday that an arrest has been made in connection with the deadly hit-and-run crash in Packwaukee on June 27.
Charles Hughes was arrested on Tuesday, November 4, on a charge of felony hit-and-run - resulting in death, following a lengthy investigation. It was noted in the original release back in June that "the driver of the vehicle had been identified and was cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation."
An investigation determined that both the victim, later identified as 40-year-old Ryan Alexander of Packwaukee, and Hughes' vehicle were
