DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — NEW YORK CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT COMMISSIONER ROBERT S. TUCKER HAS ANNOUNCED HIS RESIGNATION, the day after voters elected Zohran Mamdani as their next mayor, the Daily News reported . Tucker succeeded FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh on Aug. 12, 2024, a month after she resigned. Tucker owns a private security company and is a philanthropist and longtime board member of the FDNY Foundation, the agency’s official not-for-profit arm, although he has no firefighting experience.
