LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A Clark County grand jury has indicted sitting Henderson Councilwoman Carrie Cox on a charge connected to another councilwoman.
The panel voted Tuesday to charge Cox with one charge of monitoring or attempting to monitor a private conversation, according to court documents obtained Wednesday. Prosecutors announce grand jury indictments one day after the panel votes.
The indictment alleges Cox “[monitored] or [recorded], or [attempted] to listen to, monitor or record,” conversations with Councilwoman Monica Larson and two other people.
Voters elected Cox to her council seat in 2022. She represents Ward 3. Voters first elected Larson to her seat in 2024. She represents Ward 2.
Council members in Henderson run and serve as nonpartisan.
The charge is a Category D felon
