ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves are now building their staff after announcing the hiring of bench coach Walt Weiss as their new manager earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the Braves announced the additions of a well-regarded pitching coach and a first base coach, both previously on the New York Mets staff.

Jeremy Hefner will now serve as the Braves' pitching coach, replacing Rick Kranitz, who served in the capacity for Atlanta since 2018 and did an excellent job. Kranitz, along with third base coach Fredi Gonzales and first base coach Tom Goodwin, was informed that they would not be returning to the Braves coaching staff in 2026.
