CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Lenoir man has been sentenced for attempted murder after firing shots into a moving vehicle, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say on February 3, Marquel James Jackson attempted to sell a woman drugs in the parking lot of a hotel in Hickory. When she refused, Jackson attempted to rob her. When the victim tried to leave, he fired two rounds from a firearm into the passenger side.

The victim was not injured. Jackson fled the scene before being arrested by Caldwell County deputies on February 10.
