KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Missouri Lottery player was shocked to learn he had won $50,000 on a Powerball ticket he bought in Kearney last month.

The winner tells the Missouri Lottery it was an older ticket he had in his wallet and kept forgetting to check. He was stunned when he discovered it was a big winner.

“I checked the screen a couple of times,” he told the Missouri Lottery. “I actually shut the program down and reloaded it to make sure it was working correctly!”

The ticket was bought at the Price Chopper located at 701 Watson Drive in Kearney, matched four of the five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball number. The winning numbers for the Oct. 13 drawing were 13, 14, 32, 52 and 64 with the Powerball number of 12.
