SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A commercial project for a San Angelo location of Umiya Sushi, an all-you-can-eat sushi chain, has been issued, according to a City of San Angelo permit and inspection report.

The City's October 2025 permit and inspection report lists a project for a Umiya Sushi location at 4384 Sherwood Way as an issued commercial project with a cost of $220,000.

The former Hooters building can be found at 4384 Sherwood Way. The restaurant closed in June 2024, alongside as many as 40 restaurants across the United States deemed as “underperforming” by the company.
